Wafula Khisa is a Kenyan poet and writer. His poetry and fiction have appeared in numerous online literary magazines like The African Writer, Elixir Magazine, Nthanda Review, Lunaris Review, A Tale to Tell & Other Stories and 'The Ammagedon & Other Stories'. He has also been published in global anthologies like Best 'New' African Poets (2015-2020). He has also published two poetry collections : 'A Cock's Seduction Song & Other Poems' and 'A Christmas of Roses & Other Poems'.

Weight of Grief

As he boards a Nairobi-bound Kangaroo Shuttle, her teary face is on his mind. She stands there motionless, looking on. The Shuttle leaves as the stage is ruffled with hooting vehicles, revving car engines, stale sweat and farts from touts, and the scramble for passengers.
